A Storied Life: Tabitha, and the Quiet Joy of Sorting Things

a storied life tabitha

If you’ve ever tidied a drawer at midnight because your brain wouldn’t stop, this game was made for you. Not as a joke. As a genuine observation about the kind of person who finds calm in putting things in order.

A Storied Life: Tabitha sits in the same family as Unpacking. You’re sorting through someone’s life, fitting things into boxes, making sense of what’s been left behind. Set in Yorkshire, which caught me off guard in the best way. It launches April 14, 2026, and it’s one I’ve had wishlisted since the demo.

What it is

A narrative puzzle game about sorting through a person’s belongings and piecing together their story. You organise objects, fill boxes, and discover who Tabitha was through the things she kept. No fail states. No time pressure. The puzzles are gentle and the pacing is yours.

Launching April 14, 2026 on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. There’s a demo available now if you want to try before it drops.

Why I’m looking forward to this one

The demo already proved what I suspected: it’s meditative in the way that actually works. Your hands are busy, your mind settles, and the story unfolds around you without demanding anything. If Unpacking resonated with you, this will too. The Yorkshire setting adds something I didn’t expect. A sense of familiarity, maybe. Something grounded.

For the ones who clean when they’re anxious and sort when they can’t sleep. This one’s nearly here.
